Beginning in Access It! Universal.NET 6.1, support has been added to have up to two OSDP readers wired to a single reader port allowing for a easier installations of paired readers. This functionality only is supported on Series 3 hardware.
The following Mercury-Security panels currently support multi-drop OSDP readers:
- LP-1501
- LP-1502
- LP-4502
- EP-4502 min f/w 1.241
- MR-52 Series III
- MR-50 Series III
- MR-51e min f/w 1.5.12
- MR-62e
OSDP Readers cannot be assigned an address from an MR-62e. Readers must be addressed prior to connecting to the MR-62e.
In order to add an multi-drop OSDP readers to an Access It! Universal.NET system, the readers must support the following:
- Address selectable between 0 and 3
Multi-dropped readers must be uniquely addressed.
OSDP Readers cannot be assigned an address from an MR-62e. Readers must be addressed prior to connecting to the MR-62e. - Baud Rate configurable for 9600, 19200, 38400, or 115200
SIO Configuration
The following steps outline how to add an SIO within Access It! Universal.
- Navigate to the Hardware menu by clicking the hardware section
- Expand SCPs by clicking the arrow icon
- Expand the name of the SCP for which the Series III SIO is going to be attached to by clicking the arrow icon
- Select the word SIOs from the expanded SCP
- From the right hand pane, select the SIO to be enable
- Click the Edit button from the icon tool bar
- Select the appropriate Model from the drop list
- Check the Device Installed check box
- Select the Options tab
- Check the Enable OSDP IN/OUT Mode checkbox
- Click Save
Reader Configuration
A reader type must be defined for each unique combination of installed reader address and baud rate.
Multi-Drop Readers within Access It! Universal.NET are IN/OUT. Reader 1/3 and 2/4 are paired together. It cannot be changed and is hardcoded.
OSDP Readers cannot be assigned an address from an MR-62e. Readers must be addressed prior to connecting to the MR-62e.
- Navigate to the Hardware menu by clicking the hardware section
- Select Installed Readers
- Edit reader 1 of the newly added SIO
- Select Reader Settings tab
- Click Edit button to edit reader types
- Select New
- Select Options tab
- Select Enable ODSP driver from the LED mode/protocol droplist
- Set baud rate as needed for this reader
- Set address as needed for this reader
- Click OK
- Repeat steps 6-11 for each additional reader address/baud rate combination being used
- Assign the newly created reader types to each reader as needed
