EP series panels containing firmware 1.19.4 and above contain security enhancements requiring a deliberate action to enable the default user account and once enabled it is only available for a five minute period of time.
Informational Message 1
When logging into the panel the following informational message is raised:
The default login procedure has changed and currently is not enabled.To use the default login procedure transition SW1 from Off to ON and log in within 5 minutes
Resolution
Turning dipswitch 1 to an on position will enable the default user login of username of admin and a password of password for up to 5 minutes. After this 5 minutes window has expired you will need to repeat the process to enable the default user login again.
Informational Message 2
After logging in with no user accounts defined the following information message will be displayed:
No user accounts have been defined. Future access to the web configuration pages will require the default login procedure until user accounts are created.
Resolution
If no users are defined for login to the panel dipswitch 1 will need to be turned on to enable the default user login. To prevent this from being needed in the future at least one user will need to be created. When applying the settings and rebooting the panel the following informational message may be raised:
Resolution
The first paragraph indicates that one or more of the dipswitches are not in the off position. Turning off all of the dipswitches will prevent this message from being shown. The second paragraph indicates that no users were created and the only way to access the panel in the future will be to turn dipswitch 1 to an on position to enable the default user. Creating users as outlined above will prevent this message from being shown. To continue click the checkboxes stating that you understand and wish to proceed and then click the Yes button.
