Overview

This document outlines how to program and integrate an Inovonics-1501 within Access It!. The Inovonics-1501 model within Access It! includes an EP-1501 PLUS with a predefined Inovonics Area Control Gateway (ACG) installed at address

Only 1 Inovonics Gateway (ACG) per EP-1501 Plus is supported.

Fixed devices will report as an Input Alarm on the corresponding input.

Access It! v5.2 and newer

Required Components

The following components are required to complete the integration.

  • Access It!® Universal.NET min s/w v5.2.11
  • EP-1501 or LP-1501 with encryption enabled min f/w 1.21.2
  • Inovonics EN6080 Area Control Gateway (ACG) with all ancillary modules fully configured
    • Default IP Address: 192.168.60.80
    • Default Username: Admin
    • Default Password: Admin

Configuring The EP-1501 For A Static IP Address

Hardware Setup

  1. On the 1501 set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 2 ON
  2. On the 1501 set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1, 3 & 4 OFF
  3. Apply power to the 1501
  4. Manually configure a computer to 192.168.0.100
  5. Using a straight through cable, connect computer to same switch as the EP-1501
  6. Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.251
  7. On the 1501 set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 1 ON
  8. Click Click Here to Login
  9. Click Continue to this website (not recommended).
  10. Enter a Username of admin
  11. Enter a Password of password
  12. Click Network from the left hand menu
  13. Select Use Static IP configuration:
    • IP Address: <Set accordingly>
    • Subnet Mask: <Set accordingly>
    • Default Gateway: <Set accordingly>
  14. Click OK
  15. Click Apply Setting from the left hand menu
  16. Click Apply, Reboot button
  17. Wait 60 seconds for 1501 to reboot
  18. Remove power from the 1501
  19. Set all S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs OFF
  20. Apply power to the 1501

Software Setup

  1. Run Access It! Universal.NET
  2. Create a new Channel
    • Settings Tab
      • Channel Enabled: X
      • Protocol Type: SCP
      • Channel Type: IP Server
  3. Create a new SCP
    • General Tab
      • Model: Inovonics-1501
      • Device Installed: X
      • SCP Time Zone: <Set accordingly>
      • Initialization String: <Leave blank>
      • Address: 0
    • Comm Tab
      • Channel: <Set to the newly created channel>
      • IP Address: <Set accordingly>
      • Port Number: 3001
      • Encryption Settings: None
    • Web Logins Tab
      Click New to add a new Web Login and OK to save
      • Login number: <next available number>
      • Login type: PSIA Client
      • User name: <Set accordingly for Inovonics ACG>
      • Password: <Set accordingly for Inovonics ACG>
  4. Click Save
  5. From the left hand tree, expand SCP’s
  6. Expand the Inovonics-1501
  7. Select SIOs
  8. From the right hand pane, edit SIO address 0
    • General Tab
      • Model: Inovonics ACG
      • Device Installed: X
      • IP Address: <Set accordingly>
    • Options Tab
      • Set Number of Readers (Inovonics Partitions) accordingly
      • Set Number of Inputs (Inovonics Fixed Location) accordingly

Configuring The 1501 For DHCP

Hardware Setup

  1. Apply power to the 1501
  2. Make note of the MAC address located on the side of the IP-1501 RJ45 jack

Software Setup

  1. Run Access It! Universal
  2. Create a new Channel
    • Settings Tab
      • Channel Enabled: X
      • Protocol Type: SCP
      • Channel Type: IP Server
  3. Create a new SCP
    • General Tab
      • Model: Inovonics-1501
      • Device Installed: X
      • SCP Time Zone: <Set accordingly>
      • Initialization String: <Leave blank>
      • Address: 0
    • Comm Tab
      • Channel: <Set to the newly created channel>
      • IP Address: <MACxxxxxxxxxxxx>
        If the MAC address of the EP-1501 was 00-0F-E5-00-03-4B then the IP Address field must be entered as the Host Name of MAC000FE500034B. If unable to resolve the Host Name to an IP Address, contact your local network administrator.
      • Port Number: 3001
      • Encryption Settings: None
    • Web Logins Tab
      Click New to add a new Web Login and OK to save
      • Login number: <next available number>
      • Login type: PSIA Client
      • User name: <Set accordingly for Inovonics ACG>
      • Password: <Set accordingly for Inovonics ACG>
  4. Click Save
  5. Once panel finishes downloading, right click and from the commands menu select Load AES Keys
  6. Click Yes
  7. Edit the SCP
  8. Select the Comm tab
  9. Select  256 bit AES
  10. Click Save
  11. From the left hand tree, expand SCP’s
  12. Expand the Inovonics-1501
  13. Select SIOs
  14. From the right hand pane, edit SIO address 0
    • General Tab
      • Model: Inovonics ACG
      • Device Installed: X
      • IP Address: <Set accordingly>
    • Options Tab
      • Set Number of Readers (Inovonics Partitions) accordingly
      • Set Number of Inputs (Inovonics Fixed Location) accordingly

Access It! Universal 4x - Access It! Universal.NET 5.1

Required Components

The following components are required to complete the integration.

  • Access It!® Universal min s/w v4.1.8
  • EP-1501 min f/w 1.20.1
  • Inovonics EN6080 Area Control Gateway (ACG) with all ancillary modules fully configured
    • Default IP Address: 192.168.60.80
    • Default Username: Admin
    • Default Password: Admin

Configuring The EP-1501 For A Static IP Address

Hardware Setup

  1. On the EP-1501 set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 2 ON
  2. On the EP-1501 set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1, 3 & 4 OFF
  3. Apply power to the EP-1501
  4. Manually configure a computer to 192.168.0.100
  5. Using a straight through cable, connect computer to same switch as the EP-1501
  6. Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.251
  7. On the EP-1501 set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 1 ON
  8. Click Click Here to Login
  9. Click Continue to this website (not recommended).
  10. Enter a Username of admin
  11. Enter a Password of password
  12. Click Network from the left hand menu
  13. Select Use Static IP configuration:
    • IP Address: <Set accordingly>
    • Subnet Mask: <Set accordingly>
    • Default Gateway: <Set accordingly>
  14. Click OK
  15. Click Apply Setting from the left hand menu
  16. Click Apply, Reboot button
  17. Wait 60 seconds for EP-1501 to reboot
  18. Remove power from the EP-1501
  19. Set all S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs OFF
  20. Apply power to the EP-1501

  4. Click Save
  5. From the left hand tree, expand SCP’s
  6. Expand the Inovonics-1501
  7. Select SIOs
    Do not expand.
  8. From the right hand pane, edit SIO address 0
    • General Tab
      • Model: Inovonics ACG
      • Device Installed: X
      • IP Address: <Set accordingly>
      • Login User Name <Set accordingly>
      • Login Password <Set accordingly>
    • Options Tab
      • Set Number of Readers (Inovonics Partitions) accordingly
      • Set Number of Inputs (Inovonics Fixed Location) accordingly

Configuring The EP-1501 For DHCP

Hardware Setup

  1. Apply power to the EP-1501

      • Device Installed: X
      • SCP Time Zone: <Set accordingly>
      • Initialization String: <Leave blank>
      • Address: 0
    • Comm Tab
      • Channel: <Set to the newly created channel>
      • IP Address: <MACxxxxxxxxxxxx>

  5. Expand SCP’s from the left hand tree
  6. Expand the Inovonics-1501
  7. Select SIOs

    • General Tab
      • Model: Inovonics ACG
      • Device Installed: X
      • IP Address: <Set accordingly>
      • Login User Name <Set accordingly>
      • Login Password <Set accordingly>
    • Options Tab
      • Set Number of Readers (Inovonics Partitions) accordingly
      • Set Number of Inputs (Inovonics Fixed Location) accordingly

Inovonics-1501 Firmware

The EP-1501 must be running firmware 1.20.1 or greater to support the Inovonics integration. This firmware revision or greater is currently distributed with Access It! Universal.NET versions 5.1.0.2 and above. Please see the following link for instructions on Manually Updating SCP / EP Firmware  for older versions of the Access It! Universal.NET software.
