pivCLASS Database Configuration
The pivClass integration requires a SQL Server database named pivCLASS to be manually created.
- Using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, connect to the SQL Server used by Access It! Universal
- Right Click on Databases and select New Database
- Enter the name pivCLASS in the Database name field
- Click OK
- Close Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Open the pivCLASS PACS Service Administration
- The default username and password is admin/password
- Select Tools | Configure PACS Service
- Within the Credential database parameter section, select the provider SQLClient Data Provider
- Enter a SQL Connection string for the newly created pivCLASS database
- A sample connection string would be:
Server=localhost\AIUNIVERSAL;Database=pivClass;UserID=sa;Password=password;Trusted_Connection=False;
- Select (check) Automatically add clients
- Select Test to validate the Connection string
- Select the PACS tab
- Select the Configure the PACS Plug-in... button
- Select Provider Name SqlClient Data Provider
Enter a SQL Connection string for the Access It! Universal database
- A sample connection string would be:
- Server=localhost\AIUNIVERSAL;Database=pivClass;UserID=sa;Password=password;Trusted_Connection=False;
- Select Test to validate the Connection string
- Select an unused UserText field the pivCLASS PIV ID will be stored in.
- Click OK
- Make note the path for the Template File
- Click OK
- Select Service | Start
If service fails to start, review logs by selecting Tools | View Log File. - Select Tools | Run Data Import to populate Access Level information from the Access It! Universal database to the pivClass database
- Select Tools | Configure Client Profile
- Select (check) Prompt operator to register
- Click OK
- Close PACS Service Administration
The pivCLASS integration uses a template.xml file to transform the data from the smart card into the Access It! Universal database. More information on configuring the XML file can be found in the pivCLASS Template XML File.
pivCLASS Workstation Configuration
- Open the pivCLASS Workstation
The default username and password is admin / password. - Select Tools | Configure
- Select the Application tab
- Enter the Server's IP address
- Select Test Connection to ensure a valid connection to the server
If the connection fails, contact [email protected] for troubleshooting assistance. - Select the attached Smart Card reader
- Click OK
- Select Tools | Synchronize Data
- Select Start to Synchronize data between Server and Client
If the synchronization fails, contact [email protected] for troubleshooting assistance. - Click Close
Cardholder Enrollment
- With the pivCLASS Workstation open, place a smart card into the smart card reader
- Enter the PIN associated with the smart card
- Once Authenticated, select Register cardholder now
- Click OK
- The Cardholder is now added to the Access It! Universal system
