Performing A Backup / Restore On Access It! NExT Step

This article pertains to a version of software no longer supported by RS2 Technologies.

 

Overview

A Backup or Restore may be performed from any client machine at any time and does not require the user to remote into the Access It! NExT Step unit. This is by design and greatly enhances the usability of the system.

System Database Backup

To Backup the Access It! NExT Step System Database follow the steps below.

  1. Select Utilities from the left hand menu
  2. Select Backup/Restore
  3. Select Backup from the upper left corner of the Backup/Restore screen
  4. Select Backup Now
    This will download a backup of the System Database to the local machine being used.

System Database Restore

To Restore the Access It! NExT Step System Database follow the steps below.

  1. Select Utilities from the left hand menu
  2. Select Backup/Restore
  3. Select Restore from the upper left corner of the Backup/Restore screen
  4. Click the Select File... button
  5. Navigate to the backup file location
    This is the backup file that was extracted from the zip file.
  6. Select Open
  7. Select Yes to perform a Panel Reset

Event Database Backup

To Backup the Access It! NExT Step Events Databases follow the steps below.

  1. Select Utilities from the left hand menu
  2. Select Archives
  3. Select the Events Database hyperlink to be backed up
    This will download a backup of the Events Database to the local machine being used.

Event Database Restore

To Restore the Access It! NExT Step Events Databases follow the steps below.

  1. Select Utilities from the left hand menu
  2. Select Archives
  3. Click the Select File... button
  4. Navigate to the backup file location
    This is the backup file that was extracted from the zip file.
  5. Select Open
